This is the most effective vacuum we get ever owned. we are with year 3 with it along with being amazing. so you are aware before this vac people went trough 5 vacs within a 3 year span. 1 dirt satan 1 roomba 1 Dyson two Eureka. The dirt and grime devil just dont perform lost suction on a regular basis and ate belts being a sumo wrestler for a buffet. The roomba was ideal for touch ups nevertheless on cleaning days to weeks it just has been no good. if we can have gotten one with a built-in timer maybe may well have been far better but we usually forgot to show it on wen people left the house every day. plus the selection container was small to medium sized and no filtering. The Dyson has been just crap worked relating to 6 months in advance of we sold the idea on craigslist dealing loose suction not like the commercial maintain. the bag a smaller amount thing is comprehensive crap and for any price i has been just pissed off that purchase. The two Eureka The Boss vacs were the most effective value. each one only lasted in regards to year and that suction was decent but it surely had lots with con. mainly that this did loose suction it have been eating belts toward the final and both possessed a burning smell for many years. The biggest issue was the length of heavy and bulky it was eventually not easily maneuverable. By way of the time the minute one started explaining symptoms of declining we started some of our search. We found that Sebo Felix therefore just blew the rest of the vacs out in the water. The just other vac people considered was some sort of melie but its issue was the selection container was tiny therefore didnt have the maximum amount of suction. Sebo Felix Pro player: Small and maneuverable- excellent along with the pivoting head. it is additionally light and fat-free so its straightforward to get under some of our couch and coffee table for any days when i am feeling lazy. Suction- that motor is wonderful cant believe it can be so great for a really small machine nothing beats it in its size i know of. Brush- you can change the brush don / doff which is useful. the brush has also a cluth process that prevents toys (towels carpets my niece sews and comes with fabric lying around) to obtain tangled up inside brush. if you complete suck it up you may just pull the idea right out without need to deal with a giant mess only to untangle something people accidentally ran across. Cost of maintenance- inexpensive not to lose $2 a container (that last) along with the bursh motor and two filters are pretty cheap. Minus: Price- it is usually expensive but we wasted less total about this vac then additional 5 combined. its a far better deal and it looks like it will last a long time. but the inital charge did give people some sticker big surprise. Weight- while it can be small and light not necessarily light enough with regard to above ground hoovering like on a ladder to obtain high up inside corners. this dosnt influence me much but it would an issue for many peopleCost- again as i cant stress the amount of this was an issue for me in the beginning but now as i cant even imagine losing it. we went with this particular vac and are so very happy with it. please go give it a try somewere its worth plenty of time spent and it blows the rest of the stuff we used the water. any sort of questions just inquire.

Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. But this vacuum beats all the others hands down. I bought mine locally from a little place I've been going to for years: they carry (and repair) every kind of vacuum. I was all set to get the highly rated Hoover, but the guy showed me the SEBO Felix, and I decided to save my pennies until I could get it. And I was glad I did: this thing is awesome. Light and powerful. The brush bar has a clutch in it, so if you suck up a rag or something, the bar stops instead of burning up the belt. The belt has a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Attachments are simple and easy to swap. The suction level can be adjusted, for vacuuming curtains or other delicates. You can turn the beater bar on and off with a foot switch: hardly slow down when you hit bare floors. The parquet head makes a floor 'mop ready': it has a seal around it to prevent dirt from escaping.Bags are expensive. But they have a built-in door to seal up the bag when it's full: no more carrying a dust-spewing bag out the door. Plus the Felix is designed to be used until the bag is FULL: there is a little window to indicate how full the bag is, and it lasts a lot longer than you'd think such a small bag would. It's light enough to carry with one hand: the built-in handle(s) allow you to carry it like a canister for stairs and overhead work.I know this is a gushing review, but this vacuum really is great. I took a couple of buddies to the local shop, and they were convinced too: we're all product engineers so we're picky about stuff. They walked out with new vacuums too!

I've been researching vacuums for a couple weeks now trying to figure out what to get. I've been rocking a $250 dirt devil bagless for the past 8 years and I'm pretty sure it wasn't picking up but 25% of the dirt and redistributing 80% of that back in the air. I have 75% carpet and 25% laminate floor/ceramic tile. I use a broom and dust pan on the non-carpet floors. No pets but I do have a wife that seems to deposit hair all over the place. This review will partially be what I came up with as well as an initial review of the Felix. Scroll down to the "SEBO FELIX" in all caps to read my initial impressions of the Felix. An upright was my #1 criteria because of the layout of my place. #2 was ability to clean followed by ease of use and nifty features. My original intention was to get a dc41, the new dyson ball, until I started researching. Apparently dyson isn't all they're cracked up to be and if you are looking at this you probably know that already. After reading everything I could I decided on either a Sebo X4 or a Miele S7. I really wanted an s7 because they are beyond sexy.Went to my local shop to try them out and get opinions. Gus, now my guy for vacuums, wasn't a fan of the S7. He lauds the Miele canisters but didn't think they made the right moves in the upright department. In his opinion there were too many moving parts and a generally over engineered product that wasn't going to last 20 years. They haven't been out 20 years so nobody knows yet. The current potential issue, that you've probably already read about as well, are a collapsing hose and plastic tabs on the bottom of the machine. The tabs looked ok to me but the hose, once expanded, sure didn't look like something I would trust or want at that price range. He also pointed out multiple small pieces, both plastic and metal that sure didn't look like they would hold up under use for 20 years. I tend to use the things I buy (read: unintentionally rough)so it put me off. The S7 looks like an exotic car with the fit and finish. Wouldn't have surprised me at all to see a yellow shield with a black pony on the front of it. I think that's what paranoid me. Seems to be german engineering in an italian design, probably can't work out well in the long run because compromises had to have been made. The swivel neck worked amazingly well. Barely a flick of the wrist and it'd be turned 90 degrees. The S7 is also massive. Not heavy or hard to use but it's a hulk of a machine and wouldn't have gotten into many of the spots I need it to. For the various reasons above it got scratched off the list. It's still super sexy and I still want one but can't justify it until I win the lottery. The x4 is nothing to write home about other than it is the perfect piece of machinery made to do it's job. I'd compare it to a fork. Can't cut with it, can't eat soup with it, doesn't really do anything other than scoop and spear stuff to shove in your face hole but nobody has come up with anything to do that job better. It looks like a shiny plastic tool. Everything on it is plastic, abs I think, for reduced weight and metal where it needs to be for potential breaking or wear. Breaks down in seconds with no tools for cleaning or repair. Feels like nothing while you are vacuuming with it. The wand attachment is better than I've ever imagined. Quick draw and quick return like it's supposed to be. Pulling the hose without the wand is just as easy. It's almost comical how incredible the wand/hose are and how awesome the x4 is. Spend a few minutes with it and you have to wonder why there is even an upright market and why the x4 hasn't cornered it. The only drawback it had, which I didn't know until the Felix was pulled on me, is that the brush never stops and it doesn't have a swappable head. When you lock it in the upright position is does lift the brush as high as it can. It's also supposedly excellent on hard floors but the brush can cause hazing/damage to urethane sealed wood floors. I'm told laminate won't have an issue but I'm buying a 20yr machine and concern for real hardwood floors in the near future was an issue. I want an X4 and will probably have one before too long. It's an awesome tool and worth the price. Sadly I have some laminate flooring that needs to be taken care of.SEBO FELIXSo while going through the S7 and X4 Gus pulls out this funky looking oversized retro electric broom and starts raving about this and that. I think to myself that I'll entertain him and listen but there's no way I'm going home with that thing, I came for a real no BS vacuum. All the random features this thing has causes me to start listening and seriously considering it. I sure don't want it but I don't know that it's wise not to get it. Gus is a good salesman, not because he is pushing a sale but he is genuinely interested in trying to figure out what is the best vacuum and which one would be best for me. After 3 days and 4+ hours in the store debating the pros/cons of each I brought the felix home today. The brush head/motor head is awesome. Have to manually adjust height but I have the same carpet everywhere so it's a one time thing. It only tells you if you are too high. Doesn't tell you if you are too low. It's the same head SEBO puts on their flagship canisters. Had no issues at all with it vacuuming and it did a darn good job. Swivel head didn't work as well as the S7 at all but really, I can turn the whole thing without any problem. The swivel neck was very nice for running along the side/under low furniture that I couldn't fit the vacuum all the way under. Edge cleaning was perfect. Sucked all the junk out from between the carpet roll off at the tack strip and the base boards. Only does it on one side though, belt mechanism is on the other side but this is pretty typical. Variable suction allowed me to do the bathroom mats at full suction and slide the suction down as I got to the edge so it doesn't eat the mat. Wasn't perfect but it was much better than I'm used to and I never once wanted to smash anything while trying to vacuum them. One pass over everything and there was nothing visible left behind. All the carpet was "pulled up" and even though it needed to be replaced a good 5 years ago, it looks and feels great after running the felix over it.On to the laminate floors and tile. Swapped the head. Not a major ordeal but would love a foot release instead of the button. Did a great job in general. The brush surrounding the floor head tended to sweep the larger stuff (dust bunnies, hair, leaves) and not really suck it up but everything else was sucked up. I found that when turning it off the larger stuff just dropped where I turned it off. Similar to a pile you would sweep up prior to putting it in the dust pan. I remedied this by turning it back on and going back over it backwards while lifting it a hair so the pile got sucked up instead of brushed. Similarly when I was done I pulled the head off and flipped it on it's back then used the bare canister to clean all the junk off the floor head brushes. Not bad overall but not as nice as I was hoping for. Then I dropped the heads and went to using it as a portable canister. I used a dusting brush (not included) to just dust random things in the house. It seems to be a gimmick because it was a PITA. You carry the "canister" in your left hand and the nozzle in your right hand. There is enough hose to go across your body but if you stretch your arm out it pulls the canister and you start bumping into things. So you wrestle the canister and your arm trying to reach whatever it is you want and end up saying screw it, I'll hit what I can but use a regular duster. I could see the need for a shoulder strap and using the same side arm to clean stuff but you'll still have an unwieldy canister swinging around. If I had stairs it might be perfect, especially with a turbo head, but I don't and can't really see anything other than an "extra feature" gimmick with the portable canister. Turning it on or adjusting suction is an exercise in frustration because the handle is sticking out 2 feet behind your back or in front of you and you don't have a third hand to manipulate it with.So overall it was a good experience. Did everything I wanted, more or less. After playing with the X4 the hose, sans wand, was ridiculous. Nothing awesome about it. Effort to get your hands on it and pull it out, effort to put it back in and then loose hose flopping around anyway. The whole thing is a little space heater. By the end of my initial run through I was sweating head to toe. The entire fabric area is the exhaust and it is spewing heat the whole time you vacuum. Much more noticeable when you use it as a canister and it's up against your body.I'll be giving it a run through this weekend (it's Thursday night) to clean and make a final decision but I'm wondering if an X4 and an electric broom might be a better option for my situation. Will wrap it up with a pros/cons because I know nobody read all this.Pros:-Vacuums carpet like a champ-Swivel head allows you to get into tight spots easier-great edge cleaning (on one side)-floor head works great on general dust/dirt-light and easy to push-variable suction works well and doesn't drive you insane on bathroom matsCons:-Portable canister mode is a gimmick at best, failure at worst-hose is a PITA to pull and reset-Floor head pushes larger objects (dust bunnies, leaves, etc) instead of sucking them up-lacks a foot release for the heads-Puts off heat better than many space heaters-Doesn't stand upright with floor head on - have to lean it on wall because body is in the way of rubber handle bumper if laid down.-Tools (crevice and upholstery) fall off while using it-Button to on/off brush has to be pushed with finger or toe, can't do it with a shoe without stomping on it.Sorry for the long winded review. Hope it helps because I had trouble finding any info on the Felix.I think I might be taking it back and going for an x4 and an electric broom of some sort. Will decide this weekend.I think SEBO regulates the price that can be listed, online or print. Talk to your local shop and they can probably get you a better price, not to mention long-term service, or call whomever you are looking at online to see if they can get you a better price. Get your hands on one and try it out. Also try out that X4.UPDATE (4-12-2012): So this thing rocks. I still don't like how it looks. I don't use it as a portable canister. It still puts off a ton of heat. The hose is still a PITA (relatively speaking) to get out and back on. BUT, it is awesome for it's cleaning ability, weight, swappable head, quietness and maneuverability. I kept it and I'm happy I did. Has cut my floor cleaning time in half if not more. I vacuum at least once a week, sometimes twice and I'm still on the 1st bag.
