I are an Oreck girl May possibly used their machines for many years; but I was starting for any little curious about most of the new technology out truth be told there and was wondering that they were going to improve for a relatively simple unit. Panasonic has really impressed me with this particular vacuum. First of just about all this monster is heavy so is a superb hauling it up and down stairs do not appeal to most people. With that being claimed it is my just complaint. I decided to position this new fangled machine to your test I hauled available my Oreck vacuumed the lounge room it looked pretty superior no complaints then i presented the Panasonic. I darn near vacuumed up a little dogs worth of dogs fur and dirt. Actually I have no idea of where the dirt originated in unless it was down inside pads somewhere. Just gives you wonder what you are walking on inside your bare feet. That has been impressive. Now on to another test. Power cord. Lastly a cord that is usually long enough that i need not keep repositioning it savings around. The attachments snap don / doff easily and with the proper tool for the right job easy to get to on the machine itself not needing a small mini vac thats now coming with Oreck vacuum cleaners why would you not get the job done the right way when. Suction power is unbelievable whether you will be using the easy to overpower carpet or bare floors adjustment or the give tools so be careful of genital herpes virus treatments are using the contraptions on. No vacuum carriers the built in canister is straightforward to empty though the instructions do scream for it being rinsed now and again with water I cannot see your requirement for this too frequently kept in mind however two dogs in their home. And last but not necessarily least even though this machine is relating to the heavy side it will do its job well everything will there ever be where you need the idea. No need for pressure bags no need to switch cords constantly and you dont need to have someone else do small vacuuming attachment type with jobs. A good overall pressure that does what it can be supposed to do when. What more could you require? This vacuum has a few really nice features slightly technology over the levels of competition but it is a leading pain to empty. This Panasonic carpet cleaner is a direct rival to Dysons never loses suction floor cleaners. Panasonic had the Dyson DC14 and 28 models in your mind when it built the following vacuum. They did a fairly good job at pretend. The cyclone dirt separator works well. The whole bag a smaller amount design the clear dirt basket with cyclone parts exposed that size the weight and most of the plastic are direct decedents with Dyson. Im using a Dyson DC14 for comparison to the current Panasonic. Where the Panasonic excels has the motorized beater bar - it moves and really surpasses your rugs hard - the main wand arrangement with some sort of height adjustable handle along with the electronic dirt sensor. That electronic dirt sensor is one cool piece of technology whenever you vacuum and the IR sensor spots dirt flying in that light is red. When the air stream is solved no more dirt is usually flying in the lightweight turns green. That sensor works effectively. I had to vacuum an exceptionally old rug for a long time to finally get the idea clean and yes its very clean now. A dense oriental wool carpet took not so cleaning. High traffic areas lit up red to get a much longer time as compared to low traffic areas. It can be pretty useless on real wood or tile floors there is simply not that much fine dirt and grime on those surfaces. Panasonic fails miserably along with the canister design. My first emptying in the canister I spilled dirt and grime everywhere. There is a good sized opening near the the top canister and if people carry the canister at a good 45 degree angle to be able hole pointing down (it is a pretty natural angle offered the canister handle design) dirt and grime spills out everywhere. So that i got to try the dirt indicator for a hardwood floor again. If you happen to rotate the canister available unnaturally and hold that will hole up no dirt and grime will ever escape. Additional problem is with that trap door latch to help empty the canister; its very oddly placed and contains a little thumb rest to boost leverage. Its actually types of a pain to employ. The Dyson one big button to take out the canister and the identical one to flip available the trap door. I never see the Dyson instructions and in three years have never spilled any dirt to be able vacuum. July 6 2010 bring up to date: Did a little wine cooling unit cleaning this weekend. What is great that wand extension helps get as a result of the coils underneath some sort of refrigerator. The bad info that red inner pre-filter contained in the unit clogs super fast with mid-sized dust. I had to help empty and clean off of that filter 6 circumstances while cleaning my wine cooling unit coils. Once plugged that vacuum loses suction. And you must mostly peel off that crud from that filtering. The Dyson does nothing beats this you can vacuum away for days therefore wont lose suction. Additional sad design choice is most of the complex molded plastic sections. The canister is a dizzying amount of parts a main hose a funnel a fastener ring another tube along with the cyclone innards. At some frequency these are said to be pulled apart and rinsed. For reassembly dont drop the owners manual : I actually forgot an individual part and ran the vacuum for a little bit without it. The HEPA (super excellent particle filter) is following a molded plastic covers. Theres a foam filter you will be supposed to wash monthly located behind an exceptionally complex clear plastic table. The panel looks love it could break over time period. The headlamp is in back of a brittle styrene plastic headlight thats not very easy to take away. The beater bar belt is behind a reasonably thin plastic panel kept down with three an individual quarter turn screws. That panel is incredibly flexible plastic but truly doesnt look very robust. The beater bar belt is kind of easy to replace. The belt can be a nice design a 6-8 V groove style that will looks solid. The beater bar is made from wood. The wand handle is incredibly adjustable. Im six foot two and appreciated i could raise the handle for a very comfortable height higher than the Dyson. May possibly no basis for the following but trying to distort the vacuum over obstacles on to the floor Im convinced I would probably eventually bend the wand tube and basically ruin the pressure. This is a pretty heavy carpet cleaner about the same body fat as Dyson. I could see how it would be fatiguing if i were vacuuming a whole lot of hours in a morning. The wheels are smaller and usually tend to follow the carpet nap compared to where you guide the idea. The Dyson rolls the place you point it. That Panasonic wheels sound truly cheap on hardwood floorings. The Dyson sounds sound and rugged mostly as a result of much larger wheels. As soon as lowering the vacuum to help push it under bed frames or other obstructions its possible to go too far together with lift the vacuuming wind up off the floor. Id say the bottom obstacle this can navigate is just about 18 inches. The Dyson gets under lower things and it never lifts heli-copter flight ground. The wand is no longer secure off fairly easily. Attachments pop don / doff easily and fast. Air turbine attachment is really nice - type of a small beater watering hole vacuum attachment that cleans carpets or mats well. The difficulty with the design pushing the expandable hose back up its holders is a pain inside neck. The wand expands really far; I could clean walls up for an eight foot ceiling. The vacuum can be a bit quieter than that Dyson. Its still truly quiet vacuum cleaner. Over-all this vacuum cleans it sucks in the dirt. The canister design is usually what ruined this carpet cleaner for me it is small (doesnt hold a whole lot of dirt) a pain to help open prone to some spillage and has way many parts. (December 19 2010 bring up to date: That cyclone cleaning device plugs up way quicker than expected. It can be a pain to clean together with requires the owners handbook to disassemble. ) I really appreciated the dirt monitor that is the fantastic bit of technological know-how. And I loved large the metallic red is usually handsome. My honest view from this vacuum cleaner if you may spend this much why not save up a tad bit more money and get the original deal a Dyson? (December nineteen 2010 contrary to such a commentor has stated I not work for Dyson)

This vacuum was easy to set up straight out of the box. There are plenty of attachments that fit every cleaning method desired. It did a good job overall. The Panasonic makes it easy to switch between vacuum head and attachments. The handle easily slides out of its holder to place an attachment at the end. The attachments do not have strong suction. The vacuum worked well on a rug that has to withstand 1 dog and two cats lying on it. The cyclone effect inside the canister looked impressive. It picked up all of the animal hairs and miscellaneous stuff on the rug. It appeared clean but the canister showed little dirt so I tested the area with my Dyson DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner. No contest. The Dyson picked up an obscene amount of fine dirt that was already vacuumed by the Panasonic. Please note that this vacuum is heavy to push around. The weight is mostly in the handle area and you can feel it in your arms after a couple of swipes. I would not recommend this for elderly customers. This vacuum has a sticker on the front which is very hard to peel off and leaves a sticky residue but leaving it on covers most of the collection canister. If you aren't prepared to spend more money for a Dyson, this one is a good choice. It performs better then the Hoover it replaces. It has the convenience of no bags (empty the canister with a push of a lever) and very little maintenance.
