I purchased one these fellas today after experiencing just returned my Dyson. Without a doubt thats right I GO BACK MY DYSON! To end up honest I am still scratching my head as to the reasons so many people throw praise in the Dyson. I had considered one of their Animal vacuums for starterst day and although it was eventually a nice product... truly is it worth virtually $500? I mean What im saying is a lot of profit here so why is it best to spend that much money for a vacuum cleaner? The simple answer is that dont. The Dyson Animal picked up just not many debris from my fully-carpeted apartment to look at tried it out. The Bissell Pet Locks Eraser was almost half-full while i used it earlier now only 12 hours after having with the Dyson. Im not sure things know about make of this really. The Bissell (which costs about 1/3 the asking price of the Dyson) seems to do the trick much better. Although the ac unit is quite bulky together with requires some assembly (the recommendations were a joke) I have much cleaner floors consequently. And my biggest peeve regarding the Dyson was that after paying the only thing that money for a product thats called The Animal I still must pay an extra $69 for any pet hair attachment! Do you find it me or is someone looking to rip me off these? (Edit: I have been told that among the list of Dyson Animal vacuums consists of the aforementioned attachment). To be sure that Bissell it comes the crazy things that attachments that you might ever need and did a congrats on my upholstery and my carpets. Although the hose isnt providing the Dyson I could clean everything that I had to clean without any difficulties. My conclusion is this - if you happen to believe that a Mercedes Benz is a good car out there due to the price tag then in all probability youll be better off which includes a Dyson. However if you just want vacuum pressure cleaner that does a decent job it doesnt matter how much it costs then pick the Bissell. Simply get my Bissell Pet Locks Eraser vacuum cleaner does a more satisfactory job than the Dyson Pet plus I have an additional $300 in my jean pocket. Now does that feel like a no-brainer to people? -Update 04/04/2009-People keep asking me that the vacuum is performing today so Im going to treat this matter. Im still very happy with my purchase and the stand by position it. No the pet Hair Eraser is not really perfect which is why As i gave it four stars rather then five. However it does a superb job of cleaning my own carpets still and May possibly only had to change the belt once as a result of my own mistake. Considering the other reviews it looks like people either love the idea or hate it. My own advice if you are generally unsure would be to purchase one with a nearby store so as to return it if somebody happy. -Update 10/12/2009-The Bissell Puppy Hair Eraser finally passed on just recently. So we went about getting two years out from it. Some of you will think that is designed for a $150 vacuum better whereas others will get higher expectations. As to do I think that we got a lot more than our moneys worth. It performed great until just lately when it simply stopped working the best way it used to. Let me inform you that we vacuum considerably in our household - at least one time a day - which means this thing got put as a result of its paces. Were happy with what we got straight from the Bissell and will end up buying another here shortly. Although we may just do it-- get the slightly inexpensive Pet Eraser (model #4101) from Walmart now.

Was my carpet REALLY that dirty? Why, yes it was.The story: My old Hoover Dirtfinder upright, given to me as a gift 10 years ago when my daughter was born, stopped working. The belt needed replacing. I'm pretty handy, so I gave it a whirl. No dice. The old girl apparently has virtually no user-serviceable parts, belts are hard to find, and Hoover no longer offers the manual as a digital download. What to do? Shell out $50+ for a professional fix, or try something new? Since we now have two cats and the aforementioned daughter has long, long hair, we went for the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser.I have vacuumed once a week, religiously, since we got the cats one year ago. So I thought the carpets in our small apartment were probably not that bad. Boy, was I wrong. I rolled the thing over an area about 4 feet square...and had to empty the canister. On to the next 4 foot square. Empty again. The next square...and empty. I vacuumed our two-bedroom apartment over the course of the first afternoon, and had to empty that canister ten times. Ten.Was my carpet really that dirty? Apparently, yes.Only drawback: Be careful what you suck up under that whirling dervish of a cleaning brush. In the first ten minutes, I destroyed the nylon strap of a backpack, obliterated at least one Littlest Pet Shop toy and pulled up the corner of a linoleum kitchen tile. Oh, and be EXTREMELY careful about not running over the unit's own power cord. Yeah, I pulled the insulation off a section of that, too. It's that strong.Highly, highly recommended. If you can stomach the sight of those first few canisters of yuck, when you were sure your carpet was clean. *shudder*

I have 5 pets and hair in my home is a constant problem. I've owned bissell before and wanted another vacuum specifically for pet hair. Bissell offers this vacuum at a reaonable price and is quite affordable.After quickly assembling the vacuum (I believe 3 screws total) and placement of the accessories, I was ready to go. There is an accessory you lower to actually pull up the hair before it is sucked up. Great!The accessories are very friendly to your staircase (and wood areas) with rubber tips. They have great suction as well.Only one negative comment, if you leave the vacuum on carpet while you use the attachments with the hose, it is so powerful it will actually LIFT up your carpet, so be careful to mind it.All in all, one of the best vacuums I've purchased!
