We were fed up of our top-of-the-line Kenmore pressure which we bought inside hopes that a less affordable machine would also are more effective than the old Hoovers and Eurekas that him and i suffered with. But that expensive machine was a nightmare with day one till abdominal muscles end... and we decided that it would be better for us to own a cheaper machine and replace it on a yearly basis. We got recommendations with friends of ours to test out Bissell vacuum and reviews on pointed us to the current line of vacuums. We couldnt bide time until it to be transported to us so we decided on Target and found it available for $89. Yay! Came up home took it straight from the box and discovered that the hose needed to be attached which was a challenge to the men in our household; ) But there after it was good to travel. And boy does the idea ever go!!! It sucks stuff right straight from the carpet tends to take away a good bit with lint too and the dust cup got filled rapidly the first couple times we vacuumed the house. I think we must empty the cup several times the first time people vacuumed! So that has been very rewarding. Its been a couple of months now that weve possessed this machine and it can be still behaving itself. Just the thing that seems a bit weak is a hose which got twisted using shape at the face end but we can live to be able. It still has the identical suction power and fails to cause us any unnecessary grief and if dealing I believe the hose is straightforward to replace. The dirt cup is nice... I was cautious with going the bag-less journey but the convenience from this surprised me pleasantly. Empty the cup to a grocery bag once that dust has settled (we practice it before we run the idea again rather than after having a vacuum session) so that dust fails to rise up in some sort of soft cloud. There can be an indicator light which informs you when the machine is not really at its optimum suctioning electrical power and this is further than useful! Wash your filter in the event the indicator goes to green and youll be oh no- normal. The 35 (or forty? ) foot cord is incredibly nice. Make sure you cant get it trapped within the brush as the cords outer coating get worn off; you are going to be an unhappy person when you do! (A bit of electrical tape will cover it when it comes about though. )I took off one star as a result of somewhat weakly-constructed hose and the reality that the brushes cant be turned off with all the attachments or doing uncovered floors. Upholstery brush adjacent to useless. Hose does not loosen up properly when being implemented and pulls vacuum across. Brush spins on Uncovered Floor setting. Hose frequently disconnects from vacuum during span of vacuuming. Expensive filters. Blockages easily.

We bought this vacuum about 2 years ago when it was still about $150. We have had so little luck with vacuum purchases the last 10 years it is almost as if you should expect them to break and budget for an annual vacuum purchase. We have wood in the most used area of our home and then carpet in the formal living and dining as well as 3 bedrooms. Two cats and a dog. We don't even vacuum that often usually once per week or once every other week. Like all of its predecessors, this one was pretty much done after a year. My husband has fixed it twice, replaced a belt once and now it is very noisy and does not appear to be picking much up. We just ordered the Dyson D14 since we have a family member that has had one for 4 years and still loves it. I hope this new one will last the 5 years it is warrantied because that still costs less than $100-300 per year on these junky vacuums. Products just aren't made the way they used to be.

I unfortunately overlooked the fact that you cannot turn off the brush on this model. The problem with this is if you have non-carpeted floors half of the dirt is flung all over the place. I just felt like I was sandblasting my legs. Also, if you are using the hose and attachment on steps or whatever and the vacuum tilts at all (which it will) it could damage your floor because the brush is still going full force. It is powerful, but unless your entire house has wall to wall carpeting it is a poor choice. Buy a model where you can turn the brush off!
